Let us tell you how The Bag Lady
in Baton Rouge, LA came about...
A little over a year ago, we were sitting together having some lunch discussing what could be...how we could own our own business. We are talented! We are creative! Yes, yes...we can do this! But, what do we do?? Start from scratch?? Maybe we're not THAT talented! So...we wrote it off as a dream that might happen one day. Little did we know that the stars would be aligning and presenting the opportunity to us fairly quickly.
Once we found out The Bag Lady (TBL) was for sale...we called, we met, and it was done! We bought TBL on November 9, 2010 and our life changed!
Now that you know how we came to be, here is some info on us:
Shelley - I'm from North Louisiana (Lake Providence for those of you who are familiar) and graduated from Louisiana Tech University where I was also a member of Phi Mu. Moved to Dallas, TX for about 5 years before moving to Baton Rouge where I now live with my husband of almost 3 years! I have 3 step-kids who also keep me on my toes! From cheerleading to basketball, football and baseball...we are a traveling, on-the-go family! I have a new appreciation for what my parents did when I was a kid! Below is a pic of my family! Before you ask, yes, the boys are twins! 13 years old to be exact! My step-daughter is 11 and you can also see her on the home page along with my niece! They make beautiful models!!

Laura - Born in Baton Rouge, LA and graduated from Louisiana State University where she was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority. Throughout college, Laura worked in boutiques and loved the personal atmosphere the small shop offered. She became obsessed with bags, clothes and make-up! After graduation, she started real estate and became very good at it! (I know this because she is our realtor!!) Although she loved real estate, and still does, she always had a deep desire to get back into retail!! Laura has been married for almost 4 years and has a daughter who is 18 months old, into everything, and talking away! She's such a cutie!! See below!!

Laura and I met when we were independent, single women living in Baton Rouge. We were actually outside in front of our apartments working on our landscaping! :) Started talking and the rest is history! We love The Bag Lady and we look forward to many more years to come!
